Missouri Military Academy (MMA) hosted the Missouri State Raiders Championship on Saturday, Oct. 24. A precursor to the ROTC collegiate level Ranger Competition, Raiders is a military-style competition conducted with an eight-man team.
The one-day event includes a 5K road march, Raider Challenge Course, Physical Team Test (PTT), and Gauntlet Course, one-rope bridge and obstacle course.
A total of 12 high schools, fielding 22 teams, from Missouri, Iowa and Kansas participated in the competition, including the following:
MMA’s Colonels Raiders team A took third place overall in the championship, finishing behind continual national champion contending teams from Leavenworth and Ozark High School.
The Colonels also took second overall in the 5K to be the state runners-up in the 5K. Coached by SFC John Biddle, MMA Raiders Team A consisted of the following cadets:
