The North Callaway boys track team won the Bowling Green Mini Medal Meet Tuesday.
For the Thunderbirds, it was their second win in a still-young season, but while that’s part of the story, it’s not all of it.
They won by half a point.
Callaway posted a team score of 145, edging out meet host, Bowling Green, with 144.50.
Key contributions came in first-place finishes from pole vaulter Drew Rohrbach (10’6 ¾”); long jumper Tristin Webb (18’11 ¼”); the 4x200 relay team of Dakota Cash, Trevor Ray, Gavin Rasmussen and Tristin Webb (1:38.64) and the 4x100 relay team of Matthew Blair, Isaiah Ceraighead, Austin Hoover and Ray (46.95).
Josh Selby continued to impress in the field events, taking second in the discus (112’7”) and the javelin throw (135’2”). Caleb Rohrbach took second in the shot put (42’9 ½”). And the 4x800 relay team of Grant Eichman, Brendan Reinhard, Noah Scrogum and Lane Kimbley took second (9:16.60). Kimbley turned in a second-place finish in the 3200, clocking in at 10:49.79.
Dakota Cash (24.06) and Tristin Webb (24.55) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 meter dash.
Other key performances came from Brendan Reinhard, third, high jump, 5’9 ¾”; Joseph Crawford, fourth, pole vault, 8’4 ¼”; Hunter Fansler, fourth, discus, 103’8”; Dakota Cash, third, 100 meter dash, 12.16; Webb, third, 400 meter dash, 55.20; David Nevels, sixth, 300 meter hurdles, 48.95; Grant Eichman, fourth, 800 meter run, 2:13.10; and the 4x400 relay team (Eichman, Scrogum, Nevels, Reinhard), fifth, 3:55.98.
Van-Far’s Cayden Caldwell finished seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.20.
