After a solid start, the North Callaway girls fell to Bowling Green 44-30 on Feb. 22.
Leading 7-6 after the first quarter, Callaway trailed 12-10 at the half. Callaway shooters went cold, especially in the second and third quarters, when they scored nine combined points.
“Our shots just didn’t fall,” said Callaway coach Morgan Beamer. “But the girls never quit.”
Freshman Abrielle Burgher had 12 points to lead the Thunderbirds and was 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. Senior Hayley Kimbley had 7 rebounds.
Freshman Kaylyn Charlton led Bowling Green with 17 points, including 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. Bowling Green improved to 5-15 overall and 4-5 in the EMO.
