Ora Austin Braden, 92, of Holts Summit, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at his home

Austin was born on July 25, 1928 in Mexico, the son of Ora and Virginia Ruth (Johnson) Braden who preceded him in death. He was married on Jan. 22, 1949 in Mexico, to Mary Ruth Pearson. Austin was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Holts Summit. In 1991, he retired as a truck driver after working for several different trucking companies. Austin was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting deer and fishing; Austin and Ruth did not only enjoy being in the outdoors, but loved to travel and camp, they belonged to Good Sam Camping Club and Coachmen Club for many years. He adored his family and grandchildren and will be missed.

Survivors include: his wife of 71 years, Ruth Braden of the home; two sisters, Dorothy Morrow and Dolly Kempker; five grandchildren, Pagena Nichols, Cassie May (Charles), Samuel Braden (Adena), Tabitha Braden and Abigail Braden; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his only son, Jerry Braden.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dusty Klein and Rev. Bill Bolden officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Summit Memorial Park.
