Robert (Bob) Daniel Beamer, 85, went to be with the Lord and his wife on Jan. 14, 2021.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 12 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Tulip, to the late Gordon Beamer and Ninnie Dollens. Ninnie later remarried Earl Russel Dollens whom Bob adored.
On Dec. 31, 1981, he married his wife Shirley Mae Beamer. Together they joined two amazing families and had two more children of their own.
Bob graduated Rankin Trade School in 1955. He worked as an electrician for 45 years. He then retired, but as social and busy as he was, he began working for Wal-Mart where he worked for 15 years.
Bob’s hobbies were tinkering with his Oliver tractors that reminded him of his dad. He loved rebuilding motorcycles and catching the wind in his face while riding. Most of all he loved being with family and friends.
Wherever Bob went, he made friends. There wasn’t a person he wouldn’t talk to. He was kind to everyone and loved to laugh. Bob’s doctor said, “he is the most positive man I have ever met in my life and that goes a long way in health.” Bob even told his family “Every day I live past 40 when my dad passed, is a blessing itself. I lived a great life, hell I had a lot of fun. I’ve had good times and bad times, but the good times outweighed the bad times by far. When it’s my time, it’s my time, I had a hell of a run.”
Robert is survived by six children, Robyn Huibregtse, Danny (Carol) Beamer, Penny (Michael) Daugherty, Pam (John) Little, Tyler Beamer and Amanda Beamer; one daughter-in-law, Joy Beamer; four step-children who were also his in his heart, Dale (Monica) Inlow, Michael (Lisa) Inlow, Diane Lewis, Julie (Dale) Holpuch; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom Beamer and Darin Dollens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Beamer and Ninnie Dollens; stepfather Russel Dollens; wife, Shirley Beamer; one son, Lance Beamer; two son-in-laws, David Huibregtse and Robin Lewis.
