Officers arrested seven suspects on narcotics-related charges over a four day span last week.

Booked on various charges were Lawrence E. Lamberson of Fayette, Brianna L. Radford of Centralia, Sarah and Dylan Blackwell of Mexico, along with Darby R. Donaldson, James W. Weldon and Bruce G. Cartwright, who were taken into custody after a warrant search of a home on Audrain County Road 9355.

Lamberson was taken to Audrain County Jail but later released. He received a summons for a court appearance.

According to Audrain County Sheriff’s Office’s Major James B. Shrader, Lamberson, 46, was the subject of an investigation by deputies in the 2200 block of Highway 54 in Vandalia. Sometime after 7:30 pm on Jan. 23, as their search continued, a deputy discovered a sizable stash of THC-infused edibles.

On Sunday afternoon a deputy making a routine traffic stop on Yale Street in Mexico noticed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. As a result, the deputy placed Radford, 23, under arrest and took her to the jail.

She was also released with a scheduled court appearance. Major Shrader did not reveal the amount of meth allegedly in her possession.

More arrests were made on Jan. 26. This time members of the Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Mexico Public Safety Department and the East Central Drug Task Force, executing two separate search warrants.

The first of these took place at a home in the 500 block of S. Missouri Street in Mexico. Officers discovered a number of items in the house, including meth, heroin and unspecified controlled pharmaceuticals, along with related paraphernalia.

Authorities linked the drugs and other items to the residents, Sarah Blackwell, 45, and Dylan Blackwell, 21. But face multiple charges of possession. The elder Blackwell was also given a public nuisance charge.

Also on Tuesday, deputies and drug task force officers descended on a house in the 9100 block of road 9355. Here they found Donaldson, 61, Weldon, 56 and Cartwright, 37, along with meth, cocaine, cannabis and the necessary paraphernalia for each.

They took Donaldson and Weldon into custody facing drug possession and paraphernalia charges. Cartwright was booked on alleged possession of paraphernalia.

They were held in jail.
