Shirley Jean Forbis, 87, of Mexico, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at the University of Missouri Hospital.

Graveside service will be Friday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Joe Pike officiating.

Shirley was born March 7, 1933, the daughter of James and Alda (Lensing) Zumsteg.

She was a waitress for the Picador for many years. Later, Shirley went to work for Mexico Public Schools in the cafeteria, until she retired.

She is survived by five daughters, Ondie (Randy) Clark of Centralia, Bobbi (Randy) Cooley of Mexico, Sue (Andy) Meeks of Centralia, Debbie Creed of Mexico, Nita (Randy) Frank of Mexico; son, Jim (Rebecca) Forbis of Atlanta, Ga.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Cary Dee Prior; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by grandson, Luke Nathanael Clark; granddaughter, Madelyn Mae Clark; and four brothers, Kenny Zumsteg, Denny Zumsteg, Gary Zumsteg, and Toddy Zumsteg.

Memorial donations may be made to the Madelyn Clark Memorial Scholarship. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
