The imaging team at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital — Audrain was awarded a three-year accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, Tuesday after a review by the American College of Radiology.
“This is a testament to the exceptional imaging team we have at St. Mary’s Hospital,” Vice President of Operations Becky Miller said in a news release. “They work hard every day to ensure the quality of care here is top-notch.”
The hospital received the gold seal of accreditation, which represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety, according to the release. Only facilities meeting the college’s practice parameters and technical standards after a peer-review evaluation receive the award.
Evaluation findings are reported to the college’s committee on accreditation, which then provides a report to the practice that can be used for continuous improvement, the release stated.
The American College of Radiology is a professional medical society dedicated to empowering radiology professional to advance the practice, science and professions of radiological care, the release stated.
