Sydenstricker family presented 2022 Dale H. Schnarre Rural Citizen Award

The 48th annual Agricultural Appreciation Dinner, sponsored by Audrain Agribusiness, was held Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Audrain County 4-H Center. Shanda Nichols, Chairperson for Audrain Agribusiness served as MC for the evening. Dr. Kent Haden, Representative from the 43rd District, was the guest speaker for the evening.

Audrain Agribusiness hosts this dinner for the farmers of Audrain County in recognition of their strong contribution to the local economy. Each farm couple is hosted for the evening by a local business couple. The Dale H. Schnarre Rural Citizen Award is presented at this banquet to a couple or family who have outstanding achievement in farm management and distinguished community service. The award has been given annually since 1974.

Herb & Beth Schnitker, were the 2021 Dale H. Schnarre Rural Citizen Award recipients. Herb presented the 2022 Dale H. Schnarre Rural Citizen Award to the Sydenstricker Family (Eddie, Connie, Kim and LeeAnn). The Sydenstricker family is known for their Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners Implement (SNP) and SydenGenetics for their famous registered Black Angus herd. SNP has 27 dealerships in the state of Missouri and Illinois. They also own several hundred acres of hay and pasture. Eddie has always wanted to give back to the communities that have made the dealerships successful. They like to focus on today’s youth who are the future of the Agriculture industry by supporting FFA and 4-H. It was recently announced the family has donated land to the community to be used for construction of a community hospital.
