On Friday, Dec. 3 candidates from every grade at Community R-VI High School vied for the title of Trojan queen and king. This competition has been around since the school's formation. Candidates compete in an interview with a judges' panel deciding the winners, based on the interview performance. Winners also receive a scholarship from the teacher's association at Community High School. Winners were Erica Windmann for Trojan queen and Aaron Carter for Trojan king.
Candidates were freshmen, Ian Johnson and Ella Duenke; sophomore, Aaron Carter and Olivia Schafer; juniors, Tucker Cox and Ivy Hays; and senior, Erica Windmann.
