The Van-Far FFA Chapter won the nursery/landscaping career development event at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 48 teams in the competition.
Team members include Ennis Childs, Mara Jensen, Devyn Keller and Hunter Scrogin. Childs was named top individual, Jensen placed 11th, Keller placed 16th and Scrogin placed 16th out of 230 participants. The Van-Far FFA advisors are Blaise Stuedle and Ashlee Waddell.
STIHL Outdoor Power Equipment awards scholarships to the top four individuals in the nursery/landscaping CDE.
Individuals in this event are scored on their knowledge of production, marketing, utilization and culture of landscape plants. Students apply the information they learn in their horticulture and landscape design classes.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
