The Van-Far and North Callaway girls opened the Bowling Green Tournament on Monday.
Van-Far lost 47-29 to top seed Elsberry. Senior Mara Jensen scored 23 points to just surpass 1,000 points in her career. Going in, Jensen needed 22 points to accomplish the feat. Van-Far plays Clopton at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bowling Green's middle school gym.
North Callaway came back to defeated Clopton 45-41 after holding the Lady Hawks without a field goal for 13 minutes in the second half (six in the third quarter and seven in the fourth quarter). Riley Blevins scored 17 points to lead the Ladybirds to a semifinal matchup with top seed Elsberry at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the high school gym.
