The Van-Far boys cross country team placed 11th overall at Friday’s Bowling Green Invitational.
The Indians compiled 273 points in the 11-school Red Division. Calvary Lutheran won the team crown with 62 points.
Van-Far was led by sophomore Fulton Walsh who placed 61st in 22 minutes, 0.56 seconds. Other Indians who competed in the race were senior Cayden Caldwell (64th, 22:27.80), junior Skyler Penley (67th, 22:38.50), junior Ennis Childs (69th, 22:48.14) and sophomore Maciah Hug-Hernandez (92nd, 27:58.34).
New Bloomfield junior Nathan Hinrichs took first in 16:28.32.
In the girls race, sophomore Madelynn Caldwell finished 50th in 25:45.86, while junior Alayna Bryan placed 55th in 26:31.45.
Marion County junior Delaney Straus won the race in 19:52.16.
Van-Far will compete in the Class 2, District Tournament this Saturday at the Pike County Fairgrounds outside Bowling Green.
Hoyt sets new PR at Bowling Green
Community R-6 freshman Dylan Hoyt placed 19th out of 96 runners at the Bowling Green Invitational Friday. He had a new personal best with a time of 19:16.77.
