After the first winning season in a long time for Van-Far football, one of theirs is heading to the next level.
Senior Blake Foster signed last week to be part of the recently established William Woods University program. He is one of the first to sign with William Woods as the NAIA Fulton school announced in May the addition of the sport to be kicked off in 2024, but Foster is also head coach Lucas Gibson’s first college signing since he took over last season.
“I think it's exciting for him to get to join a new football program, and I'm also proud of him and the work he put in this year, starting last summer,” Gibson said. “He told me on his first day he had something to prove. He reminded me of this at the signing so I hope he continues to prove himself on the field and in the classroom.”
This season, Foster finished with 17.5 tackles — with 13 of them being solo — and an interception.
