Veneata J. Eikel, 92, of Mexico, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at Heritage Hall in Centralia.

Services are at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12, at Arnold Funeral Home. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. followed by the rosary. Burial will follow in St. Brendan Cemetery.

Veneata was born on the family farm in Montgomery County on Feb. 10, 1928. She is the daughter of Raymond and Martha Brookshier. She graduated from high school in Hermann after which she worked in St. Louis.

Veneata married Valerian Eikel in May 1950, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Starkenburg. They settled in Mexico and joined St. Brendan Catholic Church in 1950 and raised four children. Veneata worked many different jobs in her life but took the most pride in being a mom and excellent seamstress.

Left behind to remember her dearly are her four children, Kenny (Marleana-deceased) Eikel of Mexico, Tony (Debbie) Eikel of Mexico, Brenda (Raymond) Nichols of Centralia and Paul (Liz) Eikel of Centralia; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all beautiful in Grandmas eyes. In addition, she has a lot of nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations can be made to Heritage Hall in Centralia, where she lived the last five years of her life. They loved her so much. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
