The Veterans United Foundation, the charitable arm of Veterans United Home Loans, recently awarded a $10,137 grant to Missouri Military Academy in direct support of its science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) programs.
“We are grateful to Veterans United Foundation for the support of our mission to enhance MMA’s digital learning environment,” said MMA President Brig. Gen. Richard V. Geraci, U.S. Army, retired. “Accessibility and daily use of new digital tools are vitally important as our faculty prepare our cadets for success in college and entrance into the ever-increasingly technical 21st century workforce.”
The grant will fund the academy’s purchase of three smart boards and three iPads for classroom use in the academics department. In support of the academy’s strategic plan and goal to continue to enhance cadet academic achievement with 21st century best practices in the classroom, MMA offers STEAM-based learning that prepares cadets for success in college and their future careers.
“I know how challenging this school year has been, and we hope this donation will help Missouri Military Academy continue to offer an exceptional learning experience,” said Veterans United Foundation outreach coordinator, Hunter Easley-Mahaffey.
The company’s employee-driven charitable arm, Veterans United Foundation, is committed to enhancing the lives of veterans and military families nationwide by focusing on supporting military families and nonprofit organizations that strengthen local communities. Veterans United Home Loans and its employees have donated more than $54 million to the foundation since its founding in November 2011. Veterans United is the largest VA purchase lender in the nation.
