Centralia runners win boys team title, both individual titles at conference meet
Multiple championships are heading back with Centralia cross country.
The boys won their fourth straight team title on Monday at the Clarence Cannon Conference meet at Shelbina Lakeview Golf Course after scoring 22 points to beat out South Shelby’s 69 points. Rohan Holiman and Kenedee Moss won the boys and girls titles, respectively, with times of 18:33 and 22:50.
Holiman was one of four first team all-conference runners for the Panthers as Carter Moss (second with 18:44), Dryst Bostick (fourth with 19:02) and Eli Hill (sixth with 19:34) earned the accomplishment. Wesley Robertson (ninth with 20:17) and Trenton Brooks (13th with 20:26) were second team all-conference.
The third place Lady Panthers — finishing with 50 points behind winner Monroe City’s 40 points — had Moss and Shelby Lewis (third with 23:40) as first team all-conference runners and Rylee Palmer earn second team all-conference with a ninth-place time of 25:05.
Mexico’s Ramsey top Lady Bulldog in Camdenton, boys middle of pack
Maggie Ramsey had the best finish for Mexico on Saturday.
At Laker Invitational at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton, Ramsey finished 16th in the girls 5,000 meters with a time of 21:13. Hunter Bickell had the best time of the Mexico boys in 29th with a 17.36 as the Bulldogs finished 10th out of 18 schools with 237 points.
Out of 90 girls, Alexandra Terry was 46th with a time of 23:13, Madison Bickell was 59th with a 24:04 and Emmaleigh Seibert was 72nd with a 25:07.
In the 120-runner boys 5,000 meters, Tyler Grimes was 41st with a time of 18:06, Brady McCoy was 53rd with a 18:39 and Carter Nading was 56th with a 18:45.
Paris girls win North Callaway XC Invite, Schmauch runner-up on home course, Van-Far’s Forman seventh
For the second straight meet, the Paris girls were champions.
The Lady Coyotes defeated four other schools with 39 points on Saturday at the North Callaway XC Invite in Kingdom City. Mairyn Kinnaman finished fourth by running a school-record time of 21:22.44, and Landen Chapman broke the boys record for the second time this season, finishing second with a time of 17:28.08. North Callaway’s Pressley Schmauch was the runner-up in the girls race with a time of 20:20 to finish behind California’s Kenzleigh Goans’ 19:59, and Van-Far’s Brooke-lyn Forman was seventh with a 23:04.
Out of 35 runners, Alexandra Tullius had the Lady Coyotes’ next best time with a 22:16 in fifth-place, Ava Crain was ninth with a 23:25, Kaylee Johnson was 16th with a 24:26 and Midori Williams was 18th with a 24:50. David Elzea finished behind Chapman in the 42-runner boys race with an 18th-place time of 19:33, and Chase Graupman was 22nd with a 20:18 to help the boys take third out of five schools with 88 points. The Elsberry boys won with 33 points.
Grace Rasmussen had the next best finish for North Callaway in 10th with a time of 23:38 as the girls were fifth with 82 points, which was just behind Mark Twain’s 81. The boys had Tristan Young leading them in 24th place with a time of 20:34, and Emerson Reinhard was 33rd with a 22:10.
For Van-Far, Erin Childs was next in the girls race with a 17th-place time of 24:28, and Khloe Wallace was 19th with a 24:58. Garrett Hopke finished 16th in the boys race with a 19:21.
