Trojans defeat Glasgow 11-6 on home away from home

Community R-6 couldn't play on its field on Tuesday but won its home Central Activities Conference game.

In a game that was moved to Mexico High School's truf field, the Trojans (9-5, 4-1 CAC) defeated Glasgow (2-9, 0-5 CAC) 11-6 after scoring the final seven runs of the game and striking  with two outs on seven of their runs. Community's top of the order of seniors Eli Johnson, Mason Rohan and Mason Carroll hit a two-RBI double, a RBI triple and a RBI double for four two-out runs in the sixth inning.

Carroll had a two-RBI triple to tie the game at 6 in the fifth inning before scoring on a catcher's error two batters later with two outs for Community's first lead of the game. He then struck out five batters in his two relief innings following five innings with eight strikeouts and two walks by Rohan. 

Johnson finished 3-for-4 with two RBI, a triple and a double; Carroll was 2-for-4 with three RBI, a triple and a double; Drake Welch was 2-for-3 with two RBI; and Lane Carter had a two-RBI double with two outs.

Community tries to play another conference game at home at 5 p.m. Thursday against Class 1 No. 7 Cairo (10-3, 5-1 CAC).
