Audrain County Youth participating in the Missouri Pork Association Youth Show Pig Circuit received awards last month at an event during the Missouri State Fair.

Junior swine exhibitors have traveled to jackpot shows throughout the summer to compete for points in the show circuit.

Winning awards in Audrain County area Ally Troesser of Laddonnia with her high point Duroc barrow; Clayton Jennings of Laddonia, placing fifth in Yorkshire barrow and Yorkshire gilt; Tayler Cope of Martinsburg, placing second in crossbred barrow, seventh overall barrow and fourth in senior showmanship; Chase Kendrick of Mexico was third in Spotted barrow and junior showmanship; and Colton Kendrick was fourth in intermediate showmanship and second in Duroc barrow.

The MPA Youth Show Pig Circuit is designed to provide junior swine exhibitors the opportunity to develop their citizenship, leadership and sportsmanship skills and to reward Missouri youth for their participation and hard work put toward exhibiting swine projects statewide, a news release stated.
