Lady Panthers leave imprint on Clarence Cannon Conference with three selections
For the Centralia girls’ best season in a while, they had several recognized for all-conference honors.
Seniors Jozelynn Bostick and Annie Robinson and freshman Braylin Brunkhorst each earned spots on the Clarence Cannon Conference after leading the Lady Panthers to 24 wins and the program’s first district championship appearance since 2012. Centralia finished 5-2 for third in the conference.
Bostick made the first team after an all-around standout season that included averages of 9 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and percentages of 69 percent on free throws and 49 percent on 2-pointers.
Included on the second team were Robinson and Brunkhorst. Robinson was the team’s leading rebounder with 146 boards on the season along with averages of 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds and percentages of 45 percent on 2-pointers and 73.8 percent on free throws. Brunkhorst averaged 11 points and 3.8 rebounds, and shot 74 percent on free throws, 45 percent on 2-pointers and 32 percent on 3-pointers.
Three Panthers among best in Clarence Cannon Conference
The Centralia boys fought to win several close games this season and finish at 14-12.
The efforts earned the Panthers a tie for second in the Clarence Cannon Conference at 5-2 — matching Palmyra’s record — and three all-conference players that included junior Cullen Bennett, sophomore Logan Rosenfelder and senior Boen Zimmerman.
Bennett and Rosenfelder made the second team after being Centralia’s key offensive threats. Bennett averaged 10 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, and Rosenfelder averaged 9.3 points.
Zimmerman averaged 8.5 points and 6.3 rebounds to be named as an honorable mention.
