The dust has settled at the Mexico Walmart on the south side of town.
The Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store on Friday, Nov. 17, with store manager Brandon Little and his staff.
“I think this is the second-best day in our store’s history,” Little said. “Next to the first day we opened.”
Little highlighted the multimillion-dollar investments that were made to the store including a whole new grocery and deli area and a new retail apparel area. The store features 70 new mannequins and new video board displays throughout the store.
“I’ve been here once or twice and there has been a lot of progress in your reinvestment in the community,” Chamber Board President Todd Geeson said while presenting Little with a progress award.
The store also features a new online pickup area that can accommodate up to 27 customers simultaneously and has added a grocery delivery service.
Little also highlighted some of the charity work the store has done and announced $3,000 in donations.
