JoAnn Thomas, 64, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at Noble Healthcare Audrain Community Hospital.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Karl Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
JoAnn was born on Feb. 14, 1957 in Mexico, the daughter of Joseph Washington Miller and Eva Grace Smith. On Feb. 11, 1984 in Mexico, she married Willie Clarence Thomas. He passed away on Feb. 18, 2019.
JoAnn graduated in 1976 from Mexico High School. She had worked at several factories around Mexico and attended Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thomas enjoyed cooking and being around her family. She loved her family dearly. She also cared for many children as a foster parent.
Survivors include three children, Dwayne Lee of Columbia, Cortney Dudley of Columbia and D’Marco Thomas of Mexico; six grandchildren, Jaylen Lee, Latrell Lee, Cameron Lee, Brooklyn Lee, Ka’Marei Dudley and Jayla Mayweather; one brother, Bobby Ray Smith (friend Ann Bruce) of Mexico; three sisters, “Shakey” Sharon Miller of Mexico, Cheryl Miller of Columbia and Telitha Miller of Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Willie, JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Ky’Riel Whitford; three brothers, Melvin McPike, Joseph Miller, Jr., and Gregory Miller; two nieces, Theresa Jo Miller and Stacey Miller; and one nephew, James Terrell Miller.
