Mexico’s Juneteenth celebration will be held June 17-19.
The celebration will get underway at 6 p.m. June 17 at Garfield Park with an opening ceremony that will include drumlines, drill and dance teams as well as a DJ.Here’s the calendar:
Day two, June 18, will include a health fair at Ty-Land from 9:30-11 a.m., located at 110 W. Jackson. At 1 p.m., the action returns to Garfield Park with three-on-three basketball, sack races, vendors and music.
Juneteenth concludes with a 10:15 a.m. worship service at Mexico United Church as Rev. Kim Lue delivers the message and the community choirs sings. A free luncheon will follow.
