Letter to the Editor: Excited to have Noble in the community

To the Editor,

I am excited about the future of healthcare services for our citizens with Noble Health becoming the owner of the recently renamed Audrain Community Hospital. I immediately liked the new name clearly stressing community services offered will be the priority.

I also like the planned partnership of Audrain Community and Callaway Community Hospitals. Health care services in America must change beginning with the ‘sharing of staffing, supplies, and expensive diagnostic equipment between hospital and clinic facilities to generate a specific ‘volume’ of patients and successful outcomes required for financial stability.

Per the Missouri Hospital Association, outpatient services generate 70 percent of rural hospital revenues. I am optimistic Noble Health will aggressively add and change outpatient services the citizens of Audrain, Montgomery, Monroe, and now Callaway counties value. I also hope services not valued based on historic utilization will be eliminated. Offering only services the citizens’ value is important, in my opinion.

I welcome Noble Health to our community. I will continue with the high quality health care personally received for many, many years from my primary physician, cardiologist, urologist, and the comprehensive cancer center associated with the new Audrain Community Hospital.

Bruce Oliver
