No injuries are being reported after a fire on the night of Friday, October 28th at the Mexico MFA Feedmill.
The Little Dixie Fire Protection District responded to the blaze at 2818 East Liberty just a little after 7:30pm.
Little Dixie Fire Protection District Chief Bill Albus says the fire started in the feed mill bins.
Albus says "It was contained to the bin and surrounding equipment. A few employees were working and one of them called us. The building was evacuated with everyone getting out safely. The cause was the dryer bin overheated and ignited the feed."
The dollar amount of damage is unknown at this time. Little Dixie Fire Protection District has responded to almost 600 calls already this year, after setting a record of 455 in 2021. Previously a the department averaged just 300 calls per year.
