The May 22 meeting of the Monroe County Historical Society will be a step back in time. Jared Shulse, former instrumental and vocal music instructor at Paris High School for seven years, will present “When Schools Consolidate; Rural School Music In Monroe County Missouri”. His program is based on his research through archives, old journals, and personal interviews with former one room school students.
Shulse received his B.A. and M.A.E. from Truman State University and is now studying at the University of Iowa to complete his P.H.D. In Music Education. He and his wife Amy and their three children reside in Paris.
The public is welcome to hear about this Interesting time of musical education history along with pictures at the regular meeting of the Monroe County Historical Society Monday afternoon, May 22, at 2 p.m. at the Historical Society office at 124 West Caldwell Street in Paris.
