Republicans mark a first

Audrain County Republicans gathered on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at the Audrain County Courthouse community room for the first-ever presidential caucus in Audrain County.  Approximately 75 people attended the event at the courthouse. The group chose Mark Stuart of Mexico as the event chair and Sally Stuart of Mexico as secretary. 

There were three residents in the Nikki Haley corner and the rest of the room was for Donald Trump.  

The group also selected delegates for the congressional congress on April 6 in Chillicothe and the state convention in Springfield. The nominees were: Barb Burson, Jennifer Gore, Steve Young, Melissa Clark, Dusty Blue, and Debbie Bruce.  

The chosen delegates were: Barb Burson, Dusty Blue, Jennifer Gore, and Melissa Clark. 

Alternate delegates nominated were: Tim Taylor, Debbie Bruce, Jeffery Owen, Patricia Jadav, Darla Haines.  After the vote, the group chose:  Tim Taylor, Debbie Bruce, Patricia Jadav, and Darla Haines. 

Doors were open from 8 to 10 a.m. Registration and a government photo ID were required to participate.  Pre-registration was available at mogop.org.

The county level caucuses allow Republicans to voice their choice for the party's presidential candidate. 

Trump wins state caucus

The Missouri Republican Party has announced that President Donald J. Trump as the winner of the 2024 Republican Caucus.

After thousands of Missourians turned out to make their voices heard today, we proudly declare that President Trump has won all 114 counties and the city of St. Louis.

"Missouri Republicans have spoken loud and clear today, affirming their trust in President Trump's leadership and rejecting the failed policies of the Democrats in Washington", said Nick Myers, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party
