The North Callaway girls’ season ended sooner than they wanted on Monday night but had a good sign of the future.
Junior Natalie Shryock scored her 1,000th career point in the Ladybirds’ 69-56 loss to Hermann (16-11) in the Class 3 District 7 tournament at North Callaway in Kingdom City.
Shryock finished with 10 points to join teammate and senior Riley Blevins in scoring her 1,000th point this season. Blevins led North Callaway (18-9) with 16 points, six assists and three 3-pointers, Lakyn Hartley had 13 points and seven rebounds, Kymorie Myers finished with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Abrielle Burgher had seven points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
“Hermann jumped on us early,” head coach Andrew Klein said. “We clawed our way back but just couldn’t catch up.”
