On Tuesday, April 11, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 1100 block of Ringo in reference to a grass fire.
Responding personnel found that a resident was burning leaves in their back yard but stopped paying attention to it for a short time. The fire spread across the yard and onto a neighbor’s property. The fire was contained and extinguished with the neighbor’s wooden privacy fence suffering minor damage. There were no injuries from the incident.
