A benefit dinner and auction will be held for Kara Tawney at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Hobo Bar and Grill in Laddonia. Tawney, 34, has been battling Crohn’s Disease since 2005 and has gone through surgeries to combat the disease. While medications have helped ease the condition, she is currently looking at her third surgery in January. Along with Crohn’s, Tawney has developed arthritis, liver issues, sciatic nerve issues and other complications.
“We will be auctioning off gift cards, merchandise, and services generously donated by people who just want to help out,” wrote Sandra Craft in an appeal for support.
Also included in the fund-raiser is a gun raffle, with the gun donated by Pease Custom Bulldozing and T-shirt sales. Silent auction items and donations can be made to Sandra Craft, Hobo Bar and Grill, by calling 573-473-6119 or by emailing sandracraft71@gmail.com. Details can also be found on Facebook, Kara’s Fight, #crohnswarrior.
Benefit proceeds will help offset surgery and medication costs. Any donation is appreciated.
