Two people were taken into custody Wednesday following an altercation in Mexico.
On Wednesday, April 12, at approximately 6:17 p.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 400 block of Bolivar in reference to a disturbance.
Responding personnel learned that Amar N Sykes, 23, and J’zmin Fierge, 18, both of Mexico, had come to the area to fight some area residents. During the altercation, Sykes injured a 20 year-old man. The man was taken to University Hospital by Audrain Ambulance District where he was treated and released. Fierge was threatening people with a gun while the assault was occurring.
MPSD located the suspects a couple of blocks away and arrested Sykes for third-degree assault and Fierge for unlawful use of weapon. Both were processed at MPSD and taken to the Audrain County Jail.
