Friends and Family of Veterans Support Group sell flowers in the Spring and Fall to raise funds to make the quilts. They also have support from many quilting shops in the area. The Friends and Family of Veterans Support Group help with the Honor Flight and volunteer on Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Home.
This is the 20th year for the Quilts of Valor program, and the organization has presented over 380 thousand quilts to Veterans in the US and overseas.
“We know freedom is not free. Our quilts offer comfort and warmth, love and gratitude meant to comfort and thank you, the Veterans, for your part in our freedom,” Mrs. Lowry said.
