Weather permitting, the week of April 22, bridge rehabilitation work is set to begin on 14 rural Northeast Missouri bridges, a project that spans six counties. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Capital Paving & Construction, LLC to complete the projects which includes bridges in Audrain, Lincoln, Marion, Montgomery, Pike and Ralls counties. These bridges were included in the Safe and Sound Bridge program which rebuilt more than 800 bridges approximately 12 years ago.

Locations are as follows:

• Audrain County, Route B - Over Branch Lick Creek, 2.7 miles from Route J
• Audrain County, Route D - Over Scattering Fork, 2.07 miles from Missouri Route 15
• Audrain County, Route FF - Over Davis Creek, 0.5 mile from Route M
• Lincoln County, Route V - Over Sugar Creek, 0.98 mile from U.S. Route 61
• Marion County, Route D - Over South Fabius River, 0.69 mile from Route M
• Monroe County, Route Y - Over Reese Fork in Audrain County, 0.71 mile from Route NN
• Montgomery County, Route AA - Over Coon Creek, 0.63 mile from Route PP
• Pike County, Route H - Over Little Ramsey Creek, 1.8 miles from Route W in Paynesville
• Pike County, Route W - Over Guinns Creek, 1.16 miles from Route F
• Pike County, Route W - Over Ramsey Creek, 0.39 mile from Route WW
• Pike County, Route AC - Over Sandy Creek, 2.24 miles from Missouri Route 161 in Middletown
• Pike County, Route M - Over South Branch Indian Creek, 0.34 mile from Route V
• Pike County, Route V - Over Indian Creek, 3.16 miles from Route M
• Ralls County, Route P - Over Spencer Creek, 0.87 mile from Route K

Six phases are included in the scope of rehabilitation work. The contractor currently plans to complete a single phase on all bridges before progressing to the next phase of work. To minimize the overall impact to motorists, there will be brief work zones at each bridge while work is active.

During these time periods, flaggers will direct motorists through the one-lane work zones. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place while work zones are active. Crews will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday. All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. All work is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2024.

Capital Paving and Construction, LLC was awarded the contract in January 2024 in the amount of $1,687,765.
