Vandalia man sufferers injuries in wreck

AUDRAIN - A Vandalia man suffered moderate injuries and was sent to University Hospital after a vehicle crash March 5 when his vehicle went off the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The wreck occurred at 8 a.m. at Route J at County Road 448 when the man, 65, was driving his 2012 Ford Escape north and he failed to negotiate a curve during hazardous weather conditions and he traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert, the report said.

Mexico man hurt in crash

AUDRAIN - A Mexico man was sent to University Hospital March 1 after a vehicle crash, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The man, 30, was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle east on Missouri 22  at Audrain County Road 308 shortly before 2:20 p.m. when he began to pass as another vehicle, a 2018 Subaru Legacy driven by a 21-year-old man from Quincy, Ill., that was making a left turn and the motorcycle struck the side of the vehicle, the patrol report stated. The Quincy man was not hurt.

The Mexico man suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital by Audrain County Ambulance.

Tennessee man suffers minor injuries in crash

BOONE - A LaFollette, Tenn., man was injured when his tractor trailer collided with another tractor trailer March 5 on westbound Interstate 70.

The man, 45, suffered minor injuries after his vehicle, a 2023 Kenworth tractor trailer driven west by a 62-year-old Union man, hit a 2020 Freightliner, also going west. The impact caused the Kenworth to travel off the roadway and go into a ditch and trees. The Tennessee man was taken by Cooper County Ambulance to University Hospital. The Union man suffered no injuries. The wreck occurred shortly after 12:25 p.m.

Four people injured in Boone County wreck

BOONE - A two-car wreck March 1 sent four people to University Hospital with moderate injuries.

The crash occurred shortly before 5:50 p.m. at U.S. 63 south at Breedlove when a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, driven west by a 60-year-old Sturgeon woman, attempted to cross the southbound lanes of U.S. 63 and went into the path of a southbound 2014 Honda CR-V driven by a Columbia woman, 47, and the two vehicles collided, the report said. A 60-year-old Little Elm, Texas, man was in the Highlander and a 39-year-old Moberly man was in the Honda.

Fulton woman suffered minor injuries in crash

CALLAWAY - A Fulton woman, 45, was taken to University Hospital after a multi-vehicle crash March 3 at US-54 west near County Road 211. Callaway County EMS transported the woman, who had moderate injuries. 

The wreck occurred at 11:15 a.m. when the woman, driving a 2022 Hyundai Kona, failed to stop at the light and collided with another vehicle, a 2022 Subara Crosstrex driven by a 52-year-old St. Louis woman, the report stated. The Fulton woman’s vehicle also collided with a 2016 Ram 1500 driven by a Martinsburg man, 23. He and the other driver were not injured.

Mokane man dies after being struck by vehicle 

CALLAWAY - A 72-year-old Mokane man was struck and killed by a vehicle on March 1 at Route C at Thornhill Drive. 

The man, a pedestrian, was walking in the roadway when he was hit, the report stated. He died at the scene. The man’s family was notified. He was hit by a northbound 2017 Dodge Caravan driven a by a 33-year-old Mokane man, who was not injured. The incident happened shortly before 11:50 a.m. No other details were provided.
