Collision injures two Mexico residents
AUDRAIN - Two Mexico residents were injured after a two-vehicle wreck Sept. 15 at northbound Missouri 15 at Audrain Road 355.
An 18-year-old man with serious injuries was taken to University Hospital by ambulance, while the other driver, a 66-year-old man, was taken by private vehicle to University Hospital. He had minor injuries.
The wreck occurred at 5:20 p.m. The 18-year-old man, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to cross the center of the roadway, according to the crash report. The other man’s vehicle, a 2012 Ford F-350, attempted to avoid the other vehicle and drove partially off the road, but the two vehicles collided. The two vehicles then ran off the right side of the roadway.
Driver taken to hospital after colliding with train
AUDRAIN - A 64-year-old Centralia woman suffered moderate injuries after a crash involving a train Sept. 15 at southbound Audrain Road 165 north of Audrain Road 161.
The woman was taken to University Hospital. The wreck occurred at 3:45 p.m.
The crash report stated the woman, driving a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, entered the railroad crossing and collided with another vehicle, a train. After impact, the Wrangler ran off the right side of the roadway. The train came to a controlled stop. Stationary signs were displayed at the railroad crossing.
