The Audrain County Historical Society hosted its annual dinner at Graceland Museum Tuesday, March 28. Highlighted by a social hour and dinner, catered by Carlson House, the program was “Stagecoach Journey.”
The program was a teaser for this Walk Back in Time 2023, which will highlight the Old West with a stagecoach, conestoga, prairie schooner, chuck wagons, snake oil salesman, and much more.
The annual dinner also provided an opportunity for attendees to see the new installation of stained glass windows in the Saddlehorse hallway. Purchased at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis by the owners of the Hoxsey Hotel and installed as dividers between the lobby and restaurant, the windows now have a new home at the museum. They were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stephenson of Texas.
Society honorees were Cara Miller, Director’s Award; Mark DeJaynes, President’s Award; and Scott Weber, Friend of the Historical Society Award.
