A Bowling Green man was arrested Wednesday in Vandalia after authorities received information that the man, a fugitive, was in the area, a news release from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office stated.
Scott Joseph Adams, 41, had a felony warrant out of Marion County, the release stated, and he will face additional charges for “offenses committed during the course of this operation.”
The release stated that during the night hours of Tuesday and into the early morning hours of Wednesday, members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a wanted subject in the area of Home and Central Streets in Vandalia .That individual was Adams.
Adams was wanted on a Marion County felony arrest warrant and was last seen in the area of Central and Home Streets during late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
“A perimeter was set by numerous members of the Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol, and as daylight hours came, the perimeter was methodically searched, cleared and closed,” the release stated. “At about (10:30 a.m.), the subject was located near Walsh and Lincoln Streets and taken into custody. During the arrest, a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper suffered a leg/ankle injury and was transported to University Hospital in stable condition.”
The release said the Missouri State Highway Patrol, deputies and troopers assigned to the Operation Relentless Pursuit Task Force and members of the Van-Far and Audrain Ambulance districts assisted in this operation.
