Bulldogs' big first quarter builds up to 49-13 Homecoming win

Mexico rebounded off losses in the previous two weeks with a decisive 49-13 Homecoming victory on Friday night over North Central Missouri Conference foe Marshall.

The Bulldogs (2-2, 1-0 NCMC) took advantage early when Marshall (0-4, 0-1 NCMC) lost fumbles on its first two kickoff returns by putting together scoring drives to help build a 27-0 lead after the first quarter. Korbyn Dorsey ran in a touchdown from four yards out and then Tyson Carr caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Charlie Fisher. Drew DeMint had a 61-yard touchdown run and a 65-yard pun return for a score. DeMint had three touchdowns and five rushes for 102 yards, Fisher threw for 60 yards and three touchdowns on 6-for-7 passing, and Carr caught two touchdown passes and gained 67 yards on four receptions. Marshall quarterback Chase Thompson ran for two touchdowns.

Next week, Mexico (2-2, 1-0 NCMC) plays at conference foe Hannibal (2-2, 1-0 NCMC), who won 60-0 at Fulton on Friday.
