Mexico had its best Senior Night in a long time on Friday night.
The Bulldogs (7-12) defeated Class 1 No. 13 Crocker (15-6) 9-2 at Chris Hotop Field, having seven of the season-high nine goals scored by seniors. Gage Walker led those honored players with a varsity career-high four goals, and one each came from fellow seniors Alfredo Juarez-Lopez, Nathan Rodriguez and Marcos Matuz. The other two came from Alex Matuz-Sanchez and Oscar Alvarez-Zapot. Mexico finished with 32 shots and led 4-0 at halftime, with Walker netting a hat trick before the intermission.
After scoring five in a 5-2 victory over district opponent Wright City at home Tuesday, the Bulldogs followed that with their biggest output in seven years since a 10-0 victory over Fulton in 2017. Mexico tries to stay hot in its regular season finale at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Canton (1-14).
