Mexico boys soccer had another tough game against the North Central Missouri Conference on Thursday at home.

Two days after losing 8-0 via mercy rule at Kirksville (extending losing streak against Tigers to five games), the Bulldogs lost 8-0 to Moberly after the Spartans put in the game-ending goal in the 77th minute, extending Mexico's losing streak against Moberly (5-5, 1-2 NCMC) to three games. Mexico trailed at halftime 4-0 and was outshot 34-8. Gage Walker did have a close call with a penalty kick off the crossbar in the second half, but the Bulldogs were shut out for the second time this week after scoring in every game previously. Grant Walker made 13 saves for Mexico in the net. Six different Spartans scored, and Lane Longbine had two goals.

Mexico's overall record falls to 4-3, its conference record is 1-3 and its record against district opponents falls to 1-1. The Bulldogs' junior varsity lost 4-0.

Mexico plays at another tough conference opponent Hannibal (8-2, 2-0 NCMC) at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
