Bulldogs hold Senior Night on same night as district win

The Mexico boys tennis seniors aren't finished yet.

After holding Senior Night on Monday for Boston Davolt and Carter Blackburn, the Bulldogs won 5-0 over STEAM Academy (6-4) on their home courts at Fairgrounds Park in Mexico in the first round of the team Class 1 District 3 tournament. Mexico (4-9) advances to the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow to face No. 1 seed Lutheran St. Charles (7-5) at 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Zumwalt East courts in Saint Peters. 

Mexico's three doubles pairings all won with scores of 8-0 by Davolt and Brixton Goerne, 8-6 by Blackburn and Skylar Shaw, and 8-0 by Landon Whitworth and Brandon Rodriguez. Davolt won his singles in two sets (6-2, 6-0), and Goerne won his singles match in two sets (6-1, 6-0).
