Plenty of old memories were recalled but new ones were made on Tuesday at the Mexico Sports Complex.
The Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 65-33 victory over North Central Missouri Conference foe Hannibal (1-18, 0-9 NCMC) to improve their overall record to 20-6 and their conference record to 10-0 to win Senior Night. The Lady Bulldogs couldn't stay with Hannibal prior to that in a 61-54 in the girls' final regular season home game.
Senior Jaydon Eldridge led the Bulldogs with 14 points, and fellow senior PJ Perkins had 12 points and seven rebounds while senior Holden Aulbur finished with 12 points. Mexico's seven seniors led the team as it gave head coach Darren Pappas his 150th career win. Mexico starts the Class 4 District 8 Tournament next Wednesday in Moberly as the No. 1 seed.
Scottie Smith led the Lady Bulldogs (12-12, 6-4 NCMC) with 22 points and seven rebounds, and senior Kenzie Taylor followed her with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Hannibal (13-10, 7-2 NCMC) was led with 25 points each from Malia Stolte and Mariah Mayfield. Mexico's four seniors will be back on Gary Filbert Court when the Lady Bulldogs host the Class 4 District 8 Tournament, but the regular season finale will be a Friday game at Capital City (10-12) to makeup for a weather postponement.
