As much as it is a sale, the Twilight Garden Party, hosted by Callaway Fields, is John Graham’s way of welcoming fall.
When Graham, owner of Callaway Fields, began throwing these garden parties it was a one-day affair focused primarily on sales.
“It was always super busy,” Graham said. “Everyone was running around like a chicken with its head cut off so we kind of wanted to expand it.”
Last year, the party was held on Thursday and Friday to help mitigate the chaos but even that wasn’t enough and Graham wanted to find a way to give more individualized attention to his customers without sacrificing the entertainment aspect.
“We’re doing things a little differently this year,” Graham said.
In addition to starting the event later in the season, Graham added yet another day, which he says will allow him to focus more on his customers.
The Twilight Garden Party officially begins Thursday evening at 4 p.m., but only for those who pre-register.
Registration includes dinner catered by Pig Up and Go at 6:30, which comes with the guest’s choice of pork steak or chicken tacos served with a side, dessert and one complimentary wine or beer.
And after dinner, Graham will have a presentation on trees and shrubs.
“We’re going to highlight my favorite trees and shrubs,” Graham said.
Because Thursday is so customer-focused, there will be no entertainment, but music, provided by The Echoes, will be pouring through the fields behind the barn Friday night starting at 7 p.m.
Graham said the entertainment is free and everyone is welcome to grab a bite at Bucky’s Sit or Get Food Truck, pull up a seat and enjoy their evening.
“It’s kind of like a customer appreciation event and a ‘let’s get ready for fall’ all wrapped up in one,” Graham said. “Everybody is ready to get back out and do stuff.”
