Two people from Mexico were killed in an early morning car crash Saturday in Mexico, according to a release from the Mexico Public Safety Department.

Kristain Pritchett, 22, and Austin Terry, 27, died as a result of the crash, the release stated. Joshua Frye, 22, and Elliot Kitson, 29, also of Mexico, were both taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Just before 6:40 a.m., MPSD personnel responded to the 4800 block of South Clark, Business U.S. Highway 54, regarding a crash. Responding personnel found that a 2016 Kia was being driven southbound on Clark when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2012 Chrysler, with Kitson driving, in the northbound lane. Pritchett, Terry and Frye were in the Kia, with Frye driving.

“MPSD used extrication equipment and assisted Audrain Ambulance District in removing people from the vehicles and treating them,” the release stated.

The 4800 block of South Clark was blocked until almost 8 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
