A Centralia man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday night in Mexico, according to a Mexico Public Safety Department news release.
Harrison Washington, 34, died at the scene. Dwight Helling, 72, of Mexico, the individual in the other vehicle, was not injured.
Just after 10:30 p.m., MPSD personnel responded to the 1500 block of West Monroe (Missouri Highway 22) regarding a crash. Responding personnel found that a Centralia man was driving a 2006 Ford passenger car eastbound when it crossed the centerline and collided with a 1999 Freightliner truck pulling a trailer, the MPSD release stated. The Freightliner was being driven by the Mexico man and the trailer was full of soybean meal.
Traffic was slowed through that area until approximately 4 a.m. while the truck and trailer were removed. The crash remains under investigation.
