Centralia’s Kennedy Dickerson ended her day solidly June 27 in New Bloomfield.
Dickerson finished fifth in the 16-18 girls group for the Missouri Golf Association’s tournament at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. Amongst the 16-18 boys group, Mexico’s Aidan Knipfel finished 11th out of 12 golfers.
Dickerson had a score of 83, or an 11-over par, while two Jefferson City girls — Sophie Hinds and Camryn Swinfard — tied for first with a 79, or seven-over par. On the day, Dickerson collected nine pars, with none of them happening back-to-back in the front nine and several of them being grouped in the back nine.
She finished the front nine with a 42, of six-over par, after sinking a par on the par four ninth hole and had a 41, or five-over par, after two straight pars on the final two holes of the back nine — with the 18th hole being a par five.
Two more Lady Panthers competed at Meadow Lake Acres in ReaLee Smith and Bailey Pace. Smith finished in eighth with a score of 91, or 19-over par, and Pace was 10th with a 99, or 27-over par.
Cairo’s Addison Pollard finished 12th out of 12 golfers with a score of 116, or 44-over par.
Knipfel slotted 11th after shooting an 87, or 15-over par, having a solid front nine before struggling more on the back nine. He collected four pars on the front nine for a score of 41, or five-over par, but had one par on the back nine for a score of 46, or 10-over par.
While Knipfel birdied the par five 11th hole, he also had two triple-bogeys on the par four 10th hole and the par four 15th hole.
