Community R-6 wasn't able to cool off Paris on Monday night.
The state No. 7 Lady Trojans allowed 13 hits and lost the Class 1 District 4 championship game 15-0 in four innings to state No. 8 Paris (22-6) at Community R-6 in Laddonia, bringing the season series between them to 2-2. Community closes the season 21-12 and qualified for its first district title game since 2020. The Lady Trojans, who were the road team this time, had two runners on in the first inning against Kennedy Ashenfelter but couldn't score. Paris kept scoring until it had seven runs in the third inning and walked off in the fourth inning. Senior Amy McCurdy was 1-for-2, and Chloe Johnson was also 1-for-2.
