Mainstreet Mexico is preparing for America’s 250th anniversary celebration.
New planters around the square will soon be blooming with red, white and blue flowers, which MainStreet’s design committee members recently planted. The planters were purchased through grant money from the Miriam Edmonston Foundation, which also helped to provide the flowers in conjunction with a donation from Central Bank of Audrain County. John Graham, owner of Callaway Fields, created the patriotic design.
MainStreet members and volunteers also painted the windows around the square in a flowing design of red, white and blue stripes with star accents.
Additionally, eight new patriotic banners will soon be flying from the lamp posts, courtesy of Mainstreet Mexico.
