Hayden Ekern and AJ Logan led the first Hayden Ekern Football Skills Camp on July 16 at Mexico High School.
The University of Central Oklahoma running backs coach Ekern and Mexico Middle School football coach Logan welcomed about 50 kids from Mexico, Centralia, Paris and North Callaway to Hawthorne Heights to teach them football's fundamentals. The kids rotated through numerous drills overseen by Ekern, Logan, Ekern's father and Mexico Middle School football coach Andy Ekern, Ekern's cousin Kamden Ekern, Mexico strength and conditioning coach Devon Scott, and Tanner Smith. The camp raised $800 for the Audrain County Crisis Intervention Services.
