The Elks Lodge had a poster contest for fifth graders and essay contest for eighth graders for Drug Awareness. The theme this year was “Throw Away Drugs-Not Your Future”.
The lodge had the winners and their parents at the Mexico Elks Lodge for dinner and award presentations last Wednesday. The fifth graders received a $50 check and eighth graders a $100 check.
Winners were eighth graders Gavin Creed, Joslyn Foley and Ian Whorton and fifth graders Lenna Kay Palmer and Brooklyn Price.
